'LARNACA' is one of the nicest cities of the island. In the 18th century it became the commercial centre of the island. 'Salt Lake' is one of the most important wetlands in Cyprus. In the summer the water evaporates and salt crystals can be seen. In winter you can see different species of birds besides thousand of flamingoes, wild swans and other migrating birds which fly to Cyprus and settle in this Lake. We visit 'Hala Sultan Tekke' by the Salt Lake. We drive to the old part of Larnaca and park our car. 'Buyuk Camii', 'Larnaca Fort' will be visited. Every visitor who comes to Larnaca must see and walk by 'Phinikoudes'which is the sea front that is lined with palm trees and restaurants and cafes. It only takes two hours to walk from Finikoudes to the Larnaca Fort and in the back streets of the old town. If you like you can enjoy the free time by shopping or swimming in blue waters of Mediterranean sea.
Hala Sultan Tekke: It’s a holy place from Moslems. As it is related to the prophet of Mohammed. During the Arab raids Ummu Haram came to Cyprus and she fell from a mull and died when she was 86 years old. Her Tomb is inside the Mosque which was amde later by the Ottomans.
Buyuk Mosque: It is the first Ottoman Mosque that was built in Cyprus on the remains of 14th century St. Cathrine Catholic church.
Larnaca Fort: The fort was built by Lusignans but it was rebuilt in1625 during Ottoman period. Later it was used as a prison.There is a nice museum inside that one must see.
